Agreed. I've had to send mine back 3 times because of this. When the bamboo comes loose, the unit starts operating hotter (and taste suffers). No more twisting for me!

I wonder if you're using the neoprene "VapeXHeat Shield" (what a name!). A lot of people have complained about their smell when new. If so, I'd suggest that you try a session without the shield to see if that helps any.

Yes. And one other advantage that I haven't seen mention of recently is that you don't have to load the capsules until the heater is up to temperature. I like to pop 'em in when the temp reaches about 320 (F) on its way to 365 and take my first draw at around 350. Great taste, less waste! :sherlock:

FYI, I returned a used EVO with a spinning bamboo which they tried to repair, but the fix lasted about 5 minutes. So, at the start of this past Sept., they agreed to send me a "new" unit. I wonder if they gave you my old one. The serial number of the old one was "EVO105XX". Is yours similar...

I find the quartz VXNs easier to clean and I think they stay cleaner longer--I tend to wipe the oily ring with a q-tip after each use.

A small amount should do ya. 1-2 on the dial is pretty common for oil. Lowering temps can be very tasty. Clean by burning off, check. The vxl tutorial on nail use is pretty good: Enjoy! jd

Turn the tube upside down and blow. That works best for me.
