I've seen it at least 6 times in 10 months. Just unplug and it works fine again. I always just assumed it was a memory leak I or something since it never really turns off.

The best feature of my first clam was that it had fingerprints on the inside of the display! The finish on the outside wasn't completed (dust nibs all over it) and the bowl cut in the plastic for the bowl was quite irregular. I really would have preferred to keep it.

@Engineer Day 2 customer here (12/26 delivery). Love my clam (thank you), use bags almost exclusively. Really wish I could have kept my first unit, it had a very hand-made feel :-). I had 4 "fire in the hole" events, 2 of which were recorded in the flash ROM when it was returned. 1. Will you...

Yes, the clam is a vampire. However, I think as long as you turn it off first (closing the lid will work), you should be fine cutting off power. My power meter (kill-a-watt) showed no evidence of anything other than stand by power draw with the unit off. That was tested on one of the very first...

You might have an idea for addressing the leaking bag problem - a magnetic attachment?

Dropping that bright red screen in cool water may help it last longer. That's useful with my Solo. With the clam, I just switch the two screens when a bag no longer fills before the auto shut off. It really does clean itself.

Wanted to post a quick note to say that Josh put together a well-though out and detailed response to my list of feedback items. I'll clarify a few with him, and I'll post some of them here for our discussion (over the next couple of days). The best news is that much of our cumulative feedback...

I must be special then, because my clam included a piece of heavy, tan colored paper (in the same plastic as the warranty) that starts off with "We Stand Behind the Herbalizer" and goes on to request: "If you have any question or anything does not seem right, LET US KNOW FIRST and we will...

I'm biting my tongue as well... My Limited Edition clam included a request that any concerns or issues be presented to the Herbalizer team prior to bringing them up publicly. I've respected that request, but they haven't lived up to their end of the bargain yet. I sent the email on Monday and...

Perhaps those high-discharge batteries used in the BudToaster would work?

Follow up: I plugged my clam into a kill-a-watt and ran it for 7 days. I didn't keep track, but I'd give a rough estimate of 7-9 sessions per day. 50-55 sessions seems like a good number, perhaps more (I love this thing!). It was kept plugged in during the week, so a week of vampire sucking is...

Thanks lazylathe for making my day :-) Sure enough, the clam's assist fan easily creates enough hydrostatic pressure to clear the Pinnacle HydroTube / WaterTube. This is the bomb! I got a few massive, and very smooth hits @ 445F and the bowl was spent pretty quickly. Now I need to go...

Thanks - I was beginning to wonder if mine had a personality defect. I've been using bags and as they get sticky inside, they take longer to fill. Longer than 90 seconds it would seem.

Just so we're all clear - I signed up a couple of days after the discount ended. So I paid the full price of $725 with free shipping and the extended Limited Edition warranty. I still made day 2 of their shipping.

Hey billyg, since you have existing bag experience and the clam, maybe you can answer a couple of quick questions? 1. replacement bags - do I have to use their special bags? 2. how often to I replace the bag? 3. are there pros and cons to other size bags 4. I have no bag experience other than...

The fan noise was first mentioned by Reflo in post 432262 in August. There was a series of follow-up posts by Vitolo (442317), Dreamerr and vtac. When I turned mine on the first time, it was what I was listening for. This is an opinion thing, and for me, I got used to it very quickly and it...

Sounds exactly like mine. I don't hear it after a few moments. See what I mean about wondering if it isn't heat sensitive?

The clam is a vampire, but overall a cheap date. My scrypt miner needed a reboot today, so I took the opportunity to plug in a kill-a-watt. This is not a particularly sensitive instrument, and only samples once per second, but will give us an idea of power demands. My unit draws between 1.0...
