yep, that's my experience. low fuel affects flame size. and i usually just bleed the lighter a bit before refilling.

i personally like the design of the jhook, as well as being able to see the vapor passing through but the durability & elegant solidness of the stem sure is nice too. i enjoy using both. don't think there is any significant cooling advantage although one could use the jhook as a mini bubbler...

talking about thicker clouds - i tried pre-heating the Gong by putting it on the dog for a min or two to get the glass hot, then load the herb then hit. could be my imagination but seems like i can produce clouds faster/thicker that way.

Jambandphon, you seem to really like the vaporgenie. Have you tried the new Lotus vaporizer in comparison? it really is an underrated portable gem, can be used with the original pipe or easily modded & used with jhook, glass etc and something which imho the OP may be interested in.
