You either install custom firmware or get a DNA mod. DNA mod means that the chipset in there is good enough not to need custom firmware. Check funkyjunk website and sur_myevic website for lists of compatible (non-DNA) mods.

I've tried TC with FJ on a rx2/3. So far I strongly prefer wattage cruise mode, couldn't get the TC right. However, I haven't spent too long tinkering, so it's possible that I just haven't figured it out yet.

For me, it's not about knowing the specific temp, but getting to a consistent heat level quickly that is maintained regardless of draw.

I'm kind of there with you. I have the wismec rx2/3, and right now my go to approach is cruise mode at about 19W. Maybe drop it down to 15 or 16W towards the end. 1-2 minute session kills the bowl, and I'm starting to get a good idea of how abv will look based on how hot the vapor had been.
