Yes, it's normal. One correction, however, there is only one piece of mica. It starts out life as 'most of a doughnut' and gets bent into 'part of a cone' with the ends of the curved strip overlapping. These ends are inserted in a groove in the wood (which holds the shape) and the mica is...
Yes, many of us have. But use the adapter for this, don't even think about putting on the bare mesh.
I find the adapter with the mesh pad works best for bubble and solvent extracts. You still need to be careful of spills sometimes (watch the automatic shaking between hits).

I think you hit two of my thoughts on the matter. A proper connection means a better seal for less of the dreaded dilution (you'll note folks condemning vapes like Ascent because of 'air leaks'). It is, of course, also more stable.
However, the 'point contact' (where the stem contacts only in...
Yes, this has been discussed several times. It seems to be a later development (along about the time the thicker caps showed up?). It's very easy to cross thread some of them. My 'most often used' Solo does this most every time I try. Carefully unthread the cap keeping it square. Go past...
That ain't the half of it. While hopefully there will be no problems, if there are you won't believe the support from Randy at PIU.
My first Solo wouldn't turn on, I emailed Randy he had a replacement in the mail that day. It got to me before I managed to box up the original, let alone get it...
2 out of 3 don't count. You know that. Good, fast, cheap.....pick any two?
FWIW I seriously doubt you could actually produce new Geos for anything like five grand. Forget the jet fighter horsepower to weight ratio. Even making hundreds of thousands. Last time I read about it 'threshold of...
Of course they don't want to share, but they could 'write their own ticket' for a big old slice of a much larger pie that way. There are lots of experts that would be very happy to protect their interests. It's what IP is all about.
Not to mention their existing distribution network? You...
Good point, but one I don't think was clear 'up front'? It looks to me as well that they were 'almost there, ready to order parts....'.
But, let me stir the pot a bit more? I suggest it might not have been a working prototype, that is one that demonstrated their ground breaking claims. If...
I'd be careful here, that's the 'Down Under' model, made for the Australian market. In this hemisphere, the water will run out the bottom.........
Perhaps turning it over would help?????

Beats me, never seen one. Looking at the photos if it's not already a 601 I bet it's 510 (the far more common size) and a thread adapter will mate things up nicely.

Understood. While pricey, there are some excellent 'stormproof' lighters out there. My favorite is the 'Windmill' brand. I have a similar one to this:

I really don't think reading about it is going to really resolve that. It's a very individual thing, others' experiences are not sure to match yours.......hey, they don't even match each other!
Nobody can really decide for you. The only way is to actually try it out for a reasonable time...
IIRC mine took just over a week, but I'm on the West coast of the US...... You, being closer and in the EU (no customs?), it'll no doubt take longer.......
You'll love it when ever it gets there I bet?
Regards and best wishes.

I sure am glad you mentioned the rotating part, I don't do it often but up 'till now I felt pretty strange doing it..... You and CK have hit on a good point, it's 'natural' to use stem movement to modify the hit(s). Even as an individual hit is going on. I think most of us come to do this...
Sure, that can be done. But the maker doesn't consider it worth the effort/cost.
How much more per stem are you willing to pay to have them all built to exactly the same size? Not that that is possible of course but Arizer could make it more uniform by scrapping the top and bottom 25% of the...
I think Kevin is right.
And so does the maker. He thinks the stem being loose is not an issue, it was never intended to stay in when inverted. Sometimes they do when new, but that's not a guaranteed feature.
I also think it's a very common theme around here (perhaps second only to 'what does...
That's my story as well. My first Vapman retired the Lotus for the most part. For sure the Vapman fits me better, no guarantee it'll be the same for the next guy, of course, but I bet way more guys go from Lotus to Vapman than the other way around?

I'm not sure I can recommend that. For sure it's not "like new", it used to be Gold plated. Not very much of course, and very thin and soft but it was the reason the original finish doesn't tarnish. Once you polish the Gold away, you're condemned to continuously polishing the Copper Oxide off...
That's my understanding as well. If I was to hazard a guess I'd say it's that old 'oil and water' thing again. All alcohol has some water dissolved in it (for practical purposes), the grades we're using have quite a bit which gets carried along. One end of all alcohol molecules is 'water...
