Thanks so much for the advice guys but being that I'm so satisfied with my LSV, unless I can realize some clear advantages over it, I can't really see spending any more money on a vaporizer, be it a new one or modding an old one.

Yup, from all three of them. Some more than others, but they all had that woody smell to one extent or another. They also all developed the old dreaded heater rattle which is also a direct result of internal charring.

Yup. That's something I never did. Succeeded in keeping the peace for their sake, but man, sometimes it was REALLY hard to do.

Wow............that's great. I started to get a twinge of health concerns breathing in charring wood and it's one of the reasons I got the LSV. It's such a beautiful design, that it's nice to know that the one main weak point has been totally eliminated.

Stu, I know that the current log manufactures have stated that they have overcome the internal charring along with the associated problems of that charring that was present with the PD. This has always been a concern with leaving the PD on 24/7. Has this, in fact, been TOTALLY eliminated...

While I know that some of you guys say it's all about performance, it can't be underestimated that aesthetics plays a HUGE role in the success or lack of success of any product, including vaporizers. There's something called "pride of ownership" and so far, from the comments expressed here...
