I do think I often get better rips using a torch and timer than I do with my enail.

I used to do that, but if you really want consistency with a torch, use the stopwatch on your celll phone to really dial in low temps with the most extraction. With my BigShot on a quartz nail, it is 10 second torch, 40 second cool, and use a cap!
