I'm not 100℅ on this but when i grew up in the 80s all we really had was red seal black and zero. This was mixed with tobacco or a cigarette then smoked. Weren't much weed about then and it was Thai or dirt weed if their was.

That's a great description of how this was for me! Seems the vent in the base cover is not in line with the actual hole hence the restriction, i can now adjust the restriction with my finger over the hole which is neat. I'm guessing on the tape inside my unit is a result of whoever built it...

Not to someone who already smokes tobacco or cigarettes it isn't. I've always found a pure joint to be way too harsh and not enjoyable to smoke at all. Thankfully i don't have to do either anymore.

Only thing i see better with this is conservation of material. Iv1 build quality. Variable temp. Faster heat up time and variable heating speeds. Better flavour imo ( ceramic bowl ) and more vapor production with a removable battery. Oh and much less draw resistance. Both have shite mouthpieces.
