Regular boro would probably be fine, no? Quartz is more resistant to thermal shock but that's usually more of an issue with torch vapes.

It depends on what you're looking for isolation from, but I'm not aware of any battery powered convection portable with a true isolated airpath. It's just not the priority with portables due to size constraints.
