That will get you to the finish line, but IMO if you are using anything more than water you are trying too hard :lol: Kidding aside, I just prefer to clean at low temps than have a 900* nail on the bench. I also avoid soaking that high of heat into my glass joints.

Torching SiC always seemed way overkill to me. I've always been able to get a perfectly new finish from simply dropping temp to 250 and qtipping with water.

I cannot understand why you would take delicious bubble and turn it into an oil cart. Have you considered simply bagging it in a filter and press out some tasty rosin? Easy peasy and you will get an excellent yield and delicious product with bubble starting material.

Looks like PIU still has some color bases. That is a beauty of a banger @52, love the additional height it provides over the torch. My v1 banger provides very little clearance.
