I had the best experience with small rigs like jammers,tubes, banger hangers, call em what you want. whats important is the perc, if its too open and airy i dont like that.. For some people its the other way around, personal preference. Dosnt have to be "heady" to offset the heat imo. my 20$...

@FlyingLow I agree Distance between sensor and dish will also slightly affect the reading. I set mine at the width of my index finger, but if its further away than that it will read lower than what it is, or closer a bit higher. My alarm-temp is set to 580 and i put in the oil at 560ish...

@lazylathe Blazer makes a whole range of different torches many of which are smaller than the Big-shot-gt8000, little brother would be "Big Buddy" from there the sizes goes down all the way to regular handheld lighter, check out their official website to see all the options...
