Yes. Iolite recommends emptying all fuel (purge it), and refill it 3 times with one of the recommended fuels, This should remove any remaining residues of the old butane, then follow with a session that lasts longer than most, to clear the jets.

Be certain you are using one of the accepted Butane brands. Iolite brand Colibri Newport These are the main 3 brands that now function properly for the tiny jet that is inside the unit. Iolite says that the other butane brands have impurities that hamper function. You can always contact Iolite...

While they can be used if careful as stem caps.... MFLB battery caps would fit the air stems better. What you have there are Arizer Air Battery caps. (18650)

Once it starts to glow, I toggle the button, to keep it at a dull glow... and when flavor/vapor becomes very warm, I back off a bit. I can sum it up by saying, I start with a glow, then keep it at a bare minimum of a glow for the extent of the hit.
