    Agreed. But if you do that “burn off” and it smells like anything other than hot metal or a bit of finger oil something is wrong. To be fair, in a product this inexpensive it’s not uncommon to see high failure rates.

    The VC are mostly conduction but they cool down quite fast. I never leave a half spent load in the VC though. Two cycles and it’s spent.

    I just realized there seems to be a threshold amongst vapers. You seem fine with plastic scorching. To me any burnt smell is an instant fail. I’m not talking about the smell that comes off a metal as it oxidizes or case plastic off gassing. I’m talking about sealant in places it should not be...

    It’s a lead free waterline fitting. Free machining is much more rare than it used to be. SS also has free machining leaded versions. Gotta think about these things. I could. I have some honey oil around here somewhere.

    There is another reason. Until they redesign the bottom of the heater to remove the use of goo to seal the air path around the wires, I wouldn’t even consider buying one.

    Four layers of slightly oxidized SS screen set in the nozzle to turn all those angry IR waves into hot air. Plus keeps crap off lamp. (Yes I will clean the polishing compound off before I try it again)

    This was earlier today Got it wired up and running. Too lifted to type more Can more picture though. Hot Inlet angled to swirl Air around bulb May have used lathe a bit :D
