Yes, there's not enough mass to use it like an elev8r, instead it's on demand, more like a sticky brick or dreamwood. Turn the torch lighter to it's lowest setting, point the flame horizontally just touching the tip of the hole. Don't point the flame down into the hole. Just tickle the tips.

@Nina I had never heard of this device you mentioned before so I looked it up, and it does seem like it could work similarly, just not a very long horn on it to act as an intake for the heat, so go single flame and low it should work. I want one!
