You can use a straight stem just fine, it doesnt need to be literally, vertically upside down to prevent spillage. Just keep it at above a 90° angle while the stem is in it and remove it between hits and you wont experience any spillage.

Its an interesting idea, but ultimately i think it suffers from the KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly) of death, in that it would be an incredibly overengineered solution to a problem that doesnt really exist. Like, there would have to be, by design, so many points of potential failure in that system...

My Alpha + rules for sure, it takes about 45 minutes to come to full heat soak but after that it has the least amount of lag of any of my log vapes. It packs a huge punch and can crush twax bowls with ease, giving giant, super flavorful clouds. I really, really love it.

I would be wary of using any stem that expands that much. I have plenty of wooden stems i use with the p80 and that has never been a problem, just a sinple twist should be enough to get it out.
