Heh, it was an earlier prototype to see how it worked with several styles of j-hooks. Unfortunately I found that design had a hard time keeping pipes upright. So I added the new notch to the wide end to encourage the hook to stay upright

Welcome! Check out the cheap high quality bubblers thread in the glass section - we have a bunch of cheap glass under $50 that will knock your socks off. I suggest you find a nice in-line ash-catcher and connect that to your J-hook.
