Soak in ISO is usually good enough. If you have some charred material on the coil gently flick it off with a toothpick or somesuch. I can usually get several weeks of use out of a dual coil quartz with regular cleaning.

I've had mixed luck with those chargers. The smaller USB ones without the wire seem to hold up better. The ones with the wire seem to short out rather easily.
