I've had my Mini for just two months and my Firefly for about three. Both still going strong....knock on wood. My premise has always been if you got through the first month you should have a 'good one'. My Ascent died at nearly a year, but that was an inherent design issue that involved fatigue...
@mestizo Keep in mind that the Arizer Extreme Q dome screens are a perfect fit and sized between the small and large MV baskets......and cost a lot less.
And welcome aboard. You....will....not....be disappointed.
Never tried oil/wax. It comes with a liquid pad.
The heat up time is what it is as already mentioned. I always spend that time waiting grinding herb and getting my flexicone set up/filled. By the time I'm done Green is ready.....I finish on Red. I actually appreciate that next warm up to Red...
Other Minivap'ers have chimed in, so I will also. I don't own a Mighty, but my views are what I've gleaned so far from feedback.
My bullet views:
Mini
- Modular design. Part replacement cost are high. Eg: battery is $109
- Taste/smoothness top notch
- Versatile. With that I mean it's as easy...
Simplified things with a straight forward glass straw. Got a 12mm over sized version x 8" long. On Red it's still staying cool. I'll stick it in the freezer for as long as it takes the mini to get to Red and the experience is even better.
Not sure if you tried it or whether it will make any difference, but maybe reset the unit? Basically, using with battery turn on as usual and then detach and then re-attach battery. Certainly can't hurt if you haven't tried.
I figured that out quick enough.
I actually took a cue from what I do with my Ascent as a spacer. I used some lead free glass beads to fill the void. Works perfect. Jury is still out if it makes much of a difference between using the large vs smaller baskets.
This will go on my 'most likely purchase' list when/if Apple approves the app. The fact that they have been 'reviewing' it since 9/17 of this year is disappointing to say the least....combined with the Storz & Bickel disclaimer gives me pause. It's ridiculous actually on Apples part.
Info for anyone interested in the decarb kit but doesn't want to pay the ridiculous price I payed from Hermes.
I measured up mine and included some photos. Found several places online that sell stainless steel tubing with near identical dimensions. All one would have to do is cut to length to...
If I stick my nose practically in the heat chamber I smell the faintest of odors, and having never cleaned it, not unexpected, but it's a good smell. :brow:
I always finish on red. A properly operating MV will not result in combustion.
This really does say it all.
When I first looked at this vape in the 'portable' section of FC I discounted it because my initial reaction to it as a portable was "it's too fucking huge" and I moved on. I don't know what inspired me to go back later and read the thread from beginning to end, but...
Well, I got the Aqua Vape glass piece yesterday. I combined it with a glass mouth piece on one end and tube cut the same length as the flexicone+ on the other end. I have not yet decided if I want to cut back the flexicone + shorter. The way I have it now the whole kit and kaboodle basically...
First photo is the Arizer basket on top of the Minivap version and the second photo is vice versa. Honestly, I see no discernible difference to the two and if there is any it makes no difference using with the flexicone.
You are not alone friend. I found myself turning the unit off because I'm so medicated because the hits keep on coming longer than I can handle with the large basket. I've actually switched to the smaller Arizer basket because of this. Even that seems to go on for longer than it should...
So, what are you using as the splice sleeve between the glass sections? I only see the double ring glass mouthpiece on the Arizer site. Or are these different? Or older? Or am I stoned and confused?:smug:
