I can't say for sure about all the crazy blinking. I know I have read somewhere in this thread about the blinking colors and what the issues were. Sorry I can't be more help. Maybe someone with some more knowledge will chime in.

I think you encountered the auto shutoff feature. It's supposed to be around an hour. The Cloud gets pretty warm when left on for extended periods. A small fan on low will help carry the excess heat away, so I've read.

Seems to be a viable option. If you already own one, all you would need is the bottom. I think it's a swell idea.

Breakaway power cords would be a great idea imho. Being able to blow bags isn't a priority for me personally although I've never used a bag vape. Does the hookah mode utilize the glass nipple on the base or separate attachment?
