Because I can't get the cap off with one hand (by using a magnet), especially when it's hot. And my non-captive caps already don't slide off by mistake, so to me the captive cap is unnecessary and just makes things more difficult/complicated.

The one thing I'm always worried about is breaking the flimsy-looking flip-up cover piece, because I'm clumsy sometimes. But maybe it's nothing to worry about. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my HS. Works like a charm, especially when I'm out and about during the day.

And the BEST part of rosin is in how it preserves more of the tasty stuff than many other extraction methods!
