Yes, and when paired with things like J-hooks, the stem won't get in the way. Your main concern with the stem should be bubblers like the D020

Really don't see how that's possible. I've reused my screens plenty of times with no problem. I think something else is going on. Can you show us a picture of how you have your basket installed?

Straight WPA is great as an air-tight mouthpiece for the Ascent. Bit too long for use with a PNWT in my opinion. The U-stem version is easier to break, i think most people go with the straight stem
