Phew, that was a long post @VaporKraut ! Few things - 1 - if it's coming out DARK black at 180C - you have a problem with your Ascent! 180C should produce a moderate amount of vapor which is nice and tasty - the ABV at this temperature should come out a light brown color, NOT dark chocolate...

Lol, the silicone seals very nicely with a 14mm female fitting, you should have no problem with a 18-14mm reducer. I have only tried the indica on my D020 twice, so I can't really comment on any oil drips - if anything I bet they'd be caught in the mouthpiece cavity and not clog the MP hole...

I don't know if I'd use coconut oil - never heard of anyone using it for wood. I know my friend uses walnut oil on his wooden bowls. Though an alternative which might work well is a very tiny bit of beeswax rubbed onto the wood while warm.
