I never used distilled, just plain old tap water for everything, even rinses. Glass comes out sparkling clean with no spots. Not arguing with anyone, just sharing my results. Edit: I fill with RO (reverse osmosis) water in the piece when I use it.

I think my dabs are too little for this method. By the time I get it off the dabber onto the nail, it's gone. Sometimes I cap anyway, if it's a bigger small dab :lol: and I get a 2nd small hit.

Just start with warm ISO. It dissolves resin. May need to shake a bit (be careful). When you have it 95% clean, go to the PBW. It will do the rest, and keep it squeaky clean.

I think you nailed it right away - the PBW revealed the scratch. It was there all along. That's the price we pay for insanely cheap glass, there are imperfections. My D020 has a scratch, some bubbles, a dark spot and a fracture in the joint - I just live with it. Interesting. I use less than a...

Just my newby thoughts, what I have experienced and read: Tried a male nail, and there seemed to be more heat built up in it cuz it's large (14/18mm). Heat transfer to the piece seems about the same, but it was heating up the dewaar joint, which has more mass than a male. If using a Ti nail...
