EDIT: I fixed it! See two posts down... Ok I will summarize the issue: HVD unlocks/resets (to off, does not come on by itself) when there is a sharp bottom tap (like you set it down on a table) because the batteries bounce off of the very solid contacts. Only the 7.4v and 3.7v long...

Maybe my 1.5 ohm cart was old and dying because I ran it dry twice... But, just like the Persei, the v2 hvd is fantastic with 5 ohm carts!

If you have a v2 I would still check out the HVD, I just received mine today... Imagine 5 ohm cart power (and it really is almost as powerful...) in v2's slim body: :mmmm:

Is the grey ring squishy like silicone or slippery like teflon? Or is it just hard and smooth like plastic?

Silicone or teflon would be ideal I think, delrin or some other plastic would be a bit iffy imo. If you can feel it: -Silicone should have some give and be a little bit sticky/rubbery. -Teflon will be hard but feel very slippery, almost oily. But most plastics can be hard and feel smooth too...

Is that plastic around the bowl or teflon? There are some high temp plastics out there but it would be nice to know what it's made of...

That's a valid reason... I think it's going to be a case-by-case thing, I have a feeling I will be able to get used to the toggle on/toggle off and find it useful for some devices, but others might want the momentary on... maybe some kind of exchange program for people who would be better...

Ordered online from the site sometime after June 1st (don't think I have any receipt) Gnome arrived today, about two weeks later. Don't know if that's faster or slower than normal, just my data point. Looking forward to trying it out! Just need to watch some user vids...
