My parts never got any heat other than the inherent heat of thecHerc during operation. I tried the ISO soak but it didn't come back. The bottom adapter never gets contact with oil.

I believe that is an older message. When they were out of production for a couple of months. My 186 and 187 are both very good quality.

My SR-74 bottom adaptor springs have failed. Actually only one side failed. There are 2 springs. One on the Cart side and one on the Top side. My SR74 gold rod holder has a spring that has collapsed as well. Sadly, these 2 parts are all that I have left of THAT Herc (sore subject :disgust:)...

@Jethro try letting some of the herb sit and dry out for a while until it breaks up when you squeeze. My guess is there is too much moisture in your herb. (Especially if it has trouble burning in a joint).
