    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Good grief, one hit?! What did you do, install a Herbie pump in your chest? Re the straight adapter: I used one on the whip to my bubbler when I still had the stock pvc tubing. An adapter doesn't facilitate larger ID, in fact some actually taper such that they narrow the flow a bit...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Welcome! IMHO, you made the right choice. The Volcano is a very nice machine but ~3x the price, and short of the large group session, the Q can get you the same results - plus you have the whip. There is an incredible amount of information here about the Q and vaping in general - enjoy!

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

How close a match were the shop screens to the stock? If not the same or very close, I wonder if that might be a factor. I take it you tried the dome shape as I suggested? Mine is a rather flat dome, not perfectly curved. The key is to get the diameter to just the slightest bit more than...

Good catch. You're right, of course. I fumbled the wording. I should have kept it straightforward: Reducing pressure lowers the boiling point, that is what is key. And this factor inter-plays with the air movement, the other key point, as you observe. Someday maybe I'll learn how to keep...

Well, that would explain the confusion. ;)

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

The top coating is the piece of black teflon that is shrink wrapped around and inside the top section of the cyclone; the bottom section is bare. So when the cyclone is inverted the teflon comes into direct contact with the glass casing around the element.

These cases are new to me. Can you point me to the case that you will be using for the Cloud? I presume it also stores the tube? (I'll be using the Showerdome.) Thanks!

So OK, I'm gonna give this a shot. Bare in mind that my engineering discpline is not thermodynamics. And besides, not being privy to the design itself, I couldn't comment anyway on how the turbulence is induced or how the air pressure is reduced. This all may very well be part of the "patent...

Fair questions. I'll readily acknowledge that my comment was not based on my personal observation. It's based on feedback from stonemonkey and test users. My understanding is that this is due to turbulence in the air path which increases efficiency, and slightly lowering air pressure in the...

and for me, it's the greater extraction efficiency at lower temps for a smoother, more comfortable but still full and thick hit . . .

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

You asked, I speculated. If both ends are near equally hot, not sure I see the difference then. IME, still good to pre-heat the elbow/screen/pack. I suppose you could put the packed elbow into the bottom-up to get it warming up and then switch it when you flip the bowl. Like I said before...

You betcha, IMO this is the forum of vape-masters. Did you happen to notice that the Vriptech thread was started by StoneMonkey? He is the master behind the design of the Cloud - which should tell you something. Personally, I would wait for the Cloud.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

I suspect that no one replied because no one has done it that way. :) OK, I'll give it a shot . . . I gather then that the teflon coating at the top of the cyclone doesn't wear away putting in directly on the element that way? When you put it back in right side up, if the bottom section is...

Thanks for the info . . . 1. Interesting. Manual says to load "30-80%", so I'm wondering how much that minimum amount is. 2. Right. Although I'd think veteran stickstones' hits would be larger than smaller; 12 good- let alone large-sized hits is great! 3. The ~230C was an approximation to...

I agree, nice pic, good lungs. ;) @SlideOrDie, that short tubing probably helps some with the drag, yes? (I found though that the second eblow adds some drag compared to a straight adapter; requires the stiffer stock tubing which it looks like you're using.)
