    E-Nano from Epickai

I've tried cotton, putting some on dry herb, and even putting some in the stem by itself. This was all dry by the way, I haven't tried it with water yet. I think I'd prefer a concentrate pad of some sort but I've been too lazy to buy one. I might venture out today and see what I can find...

I might just have to cut mine too. Thanks for the idea, it seems so obvious in hindsight but it never occurred to me to just cut the sleeve.

I roll my silicone over on my gongs, but not for a better grip. I find it creates a smaller target vertically and almost makes it harder to grab. The main reason I do it is that I can see my cannabis better. Without the silicone flipped I can only see it from a top down view. I like to be able...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

Exactly. If using a specific temp helps achieve your desired results more consistently than it will help you to achieve specific effects. It's not as if hitting the exact temp 415°F (or any other arbitrary number) magically extracts the perfect mix of active compounds desired. It's that always...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

I fear I'm being too pedantic, but you may have the meaning of the two terms reversed. I made the same mistake a few posts ago. Accuracy relates to the ability to hit a given target, and precision refers to being able to consistently repeat the results. In vaping terms, an inaccurate yet...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

Good point, I misspoke and should have used the term accuracy. Precision is much more important than accuracy when it comes to producing desired effects, and is the aspect I meant to emphasize. I tend to mix those terms up, I forgot to check before I posted. I agree that repeatability and...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

Going back to the point @pakalolo was making, you do not need precise temperature control to achieve your desired effects. My primary vape is an E-Nano so I never even know what temp I'm on. However, I know if I keep it below a certain number on the temp dial I'll avoid sedation for the most...

    E-Nano from Epickai

It's funny, I take long hits (10-20 seconds) and I find zero harshness up to and including 6.5 on the temp dial. And then at 6.6 it's harsh all of a sudden. The weird thing is, I almost like that harshness. I think it's because I have a couple decades worth of combustion under my belt. If it...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

I never said I needed precision, I just meant that in general I prefer measurements with more resolution/smaller units. I completely understand the nature of how actives are gradually released up till the boiling point. And right now I don't even have a vaporizer that I can set a precise temp with.

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

I agree. That's why I like to measure vaporizing temps in Fahrenheit and weigh my cannabis in grams.

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

The conversion formula is a linear equation (F(c)=aC+b), but the temperatures do not form a linear map (F(C1+C2)≠F(C1)+F(C2)). In layman's terms, the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales rise at different rates (the lines are not parallel): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_equation...

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

I believe they were trying to say that even flavor chasers will be 60°C (140°F) above the boiling point of water, which would be 160°C/320°F. However, that is technically only 108°F more than the boiling point, not 140°F. That's because the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion is not linear like...

    Atmos Boss

I actually like the feature as it helps conserve herb and battery life, and you can always turn it right back on and keep hitting it, even before the light turns blue. At worst it's a minor inconvenience. It has saved me from wasting herb many times late at night when I'm watching tv and zone out.

    Atmos Boss

I believe this vape doesn't get the respect it deserves, perhaps because of Atmos' prior reputation. It's not the best vape ever but it definitely holds its own and the form factor is very nice. The battery capacity is also really good for its size. I let my friend who has a Pax 2 use it and he...

    Fuck you !!!

I was just thinking how it's been a couple of months since I quit smoking cannabis, and how much better vaping is. I know this is going to sound obvious but I really want to say it right now: Fuck Combustion! Fuck ash, fuck burn marks, fuck nasty ass resin on beautiful glass! Fuck reeking of...

So what's the safest vap on the market?

The safest vape is nearly impossible to quantify but you could say the Volcano Medic and AroMed are the safest overall. The Volcano Medic is certified for medical use in Canada, and while AroMed is still working on medical certification, in Europe six insurance companies will refund its...

    Advanced jar curing

In my opinion curing helps out immensely when vaping in regards to flavor. Cannabis that hasn't been fully cured can taste very grassy due to the chlorophyll. Curing reduces that taste and allows the flavor of the terpenes to shine. A convection vaporizer is needed to fully appreciate the...

Discontinued Elo Vaporizer by Illimite Concept

Roughly how much can the "chip"/chamber hold? Does it work well with small loads (~.05 grams) or is it best to fill the chamber?

Acquire more herb than you can use?

I tend to acquire more than I can use, it's a decades old habit. Back in the day even the most steady supply could be gone in an instant so you had to plan for contingencies. I hated running out so I'd generally buy as much as I could afford at one time, especially if it was good. I also tried...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I remember reading that the draw sensor requires a fairly strong draw to cancel the auto shutoff.
