Had previously tried some loose material in my new Air. Today though a grinder arrived, part of last week's AA purchase. Does a medium grind. ...Loving this learning curve.

hmmm. There goes my theory of filling the dome and inserting it into the bowl, trapping a small ground load between the screen and the bowl, thus keeping it from falling into the heater. So the screen's purpose the way you describe is simply to occupy space, make the bowl smaller?

Hey @OF, thanks. If I were smart, I'd patent a swirly stem for the Air. If I were smart and talented, I'd patent a swirly stem with a tiny tiny pool for warm water at the bottom, maybe angle the stem a little, too. And maybe I'd make them in a nice selection of colored glass...
