w9tech (uptech) sells AW batteries. they work great. price is close enough to other battery sources. i was only complaining about the shitty stock batteries. I'm glad to hear that new kits will be without batteries.

i have given quite a few persei/herc setups to friends, but always needed to also buy AW batteries. the stock batteries, in some cases, wouldn't even heat an OE cart. (total DOA) are kits available with powerful enough batteries for the Herc? or am i going to be needing to dispose of more...
