    Herb Grinders

Smoking E, any thoughts on my comment above? You and Max don't agree on that link to your grinder

    Herb Grinders

I can't argue that. I do like to ocassionally make a nice salad and add kief to the ground material. So I like to collect it.

    Herb Grinders

That's the exact same link I posted. Max said that's not the one. What am I missing? Thanks a LOT, by the way. Very helpful

    The Magic-Flight Box

Yes. The ball fits perfectly in the round depression in the plexi lid. So the lid is tight to the wood, and no gaps. Sealed up very well. I love the click sound when it engages. No spilled material in your pocket. Also, once I had the plan figured out, it was easier than I thought it was gonna...

Thanks Max. I'm tempted to get that grinder that SmokingElectricity is showing us there. I like the kief collection.

    Herb Grinders

SmokingElectricity, that's a GREAT review. THat seems to be the smallest hole, smallest grind of any 4-piece I've seen. Could I ask what the EXACT model # is, please? Is this it? http://www.amazon.com/Authentic-Chromium-Crusher-Tobacco-Grinder/dp/B004LH3DYI Thanks!

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

I have to agree with PoopMachine. It's very common for the developer / inventor of an item to have an overly subjective view of his baby. There are so many high quality options that are so inexpensive. Like the MFLB. Tough to present a $500 unit next to that $100 USA made unit unit that people...

    The Magic-Flight Box

I will look into a secure way to post a picture here. In the meantime, after using the modded LB, I can say I wished I did this a while ago. It snaps closed like a jewel case under the pressure of the spring-loaded ball bearing. Nothing leaks and the seal is tight. No more rubber band. Frankly...

That's the one. I also epoxied it into place.

    The Magic-Flight Box

NealCassidy: I have successfully installed the ball catch (also called a bullet catch). Front left corner. I countersunk the acrylic lid. Very sweet. I took the 1/4" ball catch and milled it down to fit a 7/32" hole. Lots of wood remaining and did not hit the heating wire. Works VERY sweet...

    Discontinued Vapir NO2

Thanks for the update S9. Some units must have more contact with whatever stinks than others. Mine still stinks.

    The Magic-Flight Box

Hey NC. I'm not feeling good about drilling a 1/4" hole in the unit. And I'm not finding a ball / bullet catch narrower than 1/4" either...

    The Magic-Flight Box

Any luck NC? I have the ball catch and am dying to install it, however I'd like to place this where an on-board storage brush won't be going. Didn't know if you had new insights

    The Magic-Flight Box

A 3/4" long tool and the corresponding channel or hole seems likely able to be accomodated. Obviously no one is meaning to drill through components within the unit. Clearly installing the supplied brush would be perhaps not possible as you point out, but that's not what's being discussed...

Good idea. That's the value of an open forum (open source) solution as only the internet can provide

    The Magic-Flight Box

Did you have something specific in mind for the screw-in cover to this thing? I wonder about a compression-fit cover, but changes in humidity could render it too tight or too loose. Another idea for a cover: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Woodendugout.JPG I've seen these with a center pivot...

The screen seems to cool quickly. The supplied solder brush was to give it significant heat resistance, but not sure that's necessary. I'm with you on the shorter brush / tool length.

    The Magic-Flight Box

Certainly I'm not looking to get into the vape biz. I love my MFLB and am only interested in mod-ing it. NealC, you saw that link to that small 1/4" ball catch? I'll be installing that, but will wait until the other tool hole location is defined. The supplied little solder brush is useful, but...
