IR generally sucks for our purposes... funky reflections off quartz and SiC make it very difficult to get accurate readings. DabPress and a few others are IR, and I don't know how theirs works so much better than my hardware store variants but it does... in the same breath, I'll tell ya...

If you are just getting into concentrates, get rid of your slurper... it is not forgiving and will do you no favors. I recommend 710quartz 25mm deep dish banger paired with a good cap. Find your feet with a banger, and step up to the Slurper when you start globbing and taking huge hits.

If you are okay with not-an-e-rig, the RiO is my number one and number two pick for a budget all-in-one setup.

This is not a dick measuring contest, you do you and fuck everyone else's opinion! No need to be self conscious about how much or fast you vape... life is short, don't stress over insignificant shit.

IMO pearls are essential... I can spread all my material out across the most area of quartz while it is at the perfect temp for the largest rip.

How are you all cleaning terp pearls, gems, etc? My ruby pearls don't always clean with a simple iso soak...

The banger or slurper should tolerate extremely high temps if it is real quartz. The extreme temps might expedite devitrification over time, but does not cause immediate damage. If this is your method, you can still maintain quartz for a LONG time IF you step up your maintenance game...

Core bangers also suck, but he can get MUCH better results if he loads on the very bottom of the banger. Loading a core on the walls, or on top of the center lug does not give the best, most repeatable results. I prefer a standard banger or a round bottom.

I use mine for flower rosin, and have been infatuated with the 3x5 10t, paired with pump and gauge [Strongway]. I tend to use it for 5-15g presses.
