For those interested and if you missed out on the last MassDrop for the PNP, there seems to be another active one, 6 days left: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/pinnacle-pro-1?mode=guest_open&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=18plus&utm_campaign=Product%20Announcement%202014-01-06
This is my new favorite thread on FC, watching the development of this unit is exciting. Maybe upon release a massdrop could be coordinated to get it back to the lower price, but I don't know how that service really works. Even staying south of $300 is a decent price point in this market...
5mm glass is very sturdy, higher quality feeling than thinner glass, I agree. I really don't like and won't use any bag systems, if it had one I wouldn't care, but if you can get better performance w/o it, I'd choose the tradeoff of that one piece of less flexibility in usage modes.
Lastly...
I hate scraping but I know it's in the future, I do a high heat up with torch on my ufo/atty and then do a number of dry pulls with no material in the bowl, I read to do that in this thread somewhere to help keep the sub clean. This also gets a lot of the sublimate oil to collect at the bottom...
Had same problem with unit bought last Sept, worked for about a week then the issue you mention, returned under warranty from TRVB and received a new unit that's been working fine since.
I do level 3 and sometimes 4 dry as well, I don't travel with the WT. When I first started I coughed a lot, still cough on occasion but much less so, I blame the heat more than vapor density. Only took about a couple weeks of use for my throat to get used to the dry vapor and the coughing to...
Did you buy from the TRVB website? This happened to me, I emailed them and they sent me a replacement unit out right away. If you bought from YoYo kid or somewhere else, you prob have to contact them instead.
I don't know if I'm lucky, but my MPs are never loose and fit on snug with a click...
I think TRVB addressed this once many pages back, that all the tapered design WTs were replaced by the current straight tube but it still appears on packaging and other photos. Not sure why it's still shown that way on his website if that's the case, so maybe I have it wrong.
Ok then, the other problem is heating the atomizer, with UFO, you torch it a little, with Apollo, you let it sit on the atomizer to bring it up to "thermal equilibrium", how would the EVO do this? I'm not that familiar with the EVO and it's operation.
If you can find the posts, someone here DID try their EVO or Cloud, I can't remember, with their sub atomizer, they fitted it in somehow, but they heated the atomizer, I think with a torch to get the sub effect, I recall they said it was similar.
To get an actual vortex, wouldn't all subs require the inside surface of the atomizer to have swirled grooves or other type of guided restriction, similar to the Hurricane waterpipes or any of those products that try to create a similar circular airflow? Again, I think the secret is more that...
I've thought about this and never tried or seen an Apollo in person, but I'm pretty sure the UFO produces the "vortex" action, which I interpret as less of a tornado effect and more of just the air hitting the side of the heated atomizer prior to being sucked through the herbal material which...
