I've never had a Solo but it's been reported here that, with the exception of the rechargeable battery of the AA and the difference in sizes, the Solo and AA designs are pretty much identical.

Interesting. I set mine up around 8 once by accident (couldn't see the dial well enough) and got some charring. Since then I don't go above 6.5, and if I'm there, I draw slowly so as not to over cook.
