Incoming air flows parallel between the interior stainless steel walls of the bowl and the oven. Heat transferred from the interior wall into the airstream would be then further transferred to the bowls sidewalls, for the same reason - the thermal conductivity of stainless steel is 600x more...

Alternate perspective: If the bowl is already 300-350 degrees at the click, how could it possibly be convection dominant? Wouldn’t you need the bulk of the heat transfer to actually come from convection to support that claim? 🐡🐡🐡🐡🐡

Yeah, but the liberal noose media will never admit they’re owned by the exact same capital conglomerate as Fox 😂😂😂 They just write contrary narratives to keep the fools perpetually divided and at ends with each other. Sounds like it’s still working. 😅😅 I mean, in 4 years they were able to...

You’re most welcome! If you can more easily find a quartz banger you can use that as-is, filling the joint with beads and using the banger body as the handle - or score with a razor blade and snap the neck right off the banger. Or if you can find a quartz nectar collector tip, those are pretty...

You might try looking for a 14/23 quartz joint as I believe that size is more popular on your side of the pond. You’ll likely want the matching 14/23 adapter for a bowl, though a sufficiently deep 14/20 adapter would probably be alright. I’m using these ones here...

Nice seeing you around Dan! I’ve strongly considered using frits in my vapor wand and plugin desktop for heat transfer, but I think the porosity is still too fine, even at the coarsest level. Some even make a larger 00 size, but it still seems pretty fine. I definitely prefer less draw...

Gathering thoughts on a concept for a future vaporizer.

Yeah I forgot the station is coming back anyways, it must have been the drawing in your opening post, with the two devices on the hot plate with the analog dial that reminded of that setup. I was thinking from our dry sift musings in the convection thread that a hash vape would be kind of cool...

You can absolutely run it on your box mod, just start very low and work your way up til you find your ideal power setting. Another issue with the CCell batteries is they are inhale activated so you can’t pulse it either. I guess you could do cigar puffs? That’s because the grasshopper is...

Gathering thoughts on a concept for a future vaporizer.

I posted one of my vapor wands in the DIY section, somewhat inspired by the Mobius Flowerpot and old school quartz glow-wands. A few people made them and seemed to really like them, but overall it didn’t get too much interest. I think any stored heat vape without any temperature indication is...

The thing that gets me is even living in Southern California’s vast cannabis market, most of the dispensaries still peddle these hot batteries. My buddy was looking to grab one recently and they didn’t have anything in the entire dispensary that fired under 2.6v. With these higher end carts I...

Most people simply fire these cartridges way too hot which is where the harshness stems from. With the right battery it’s probably the most controlled vaping process. I rarely fire carts over 2 volts. For reference sake, the very popular Ccell Palm battery, who is one of the biggest cartridge...

The main issue I see is you’re going to have a very small contact area between the hot plate and your battery. To improve that you’d need to raise the materials thermal conductivity, but doing so would cause your stored heat to dissipate rapidly. Personally I think the hot plate as a heat...

It depends on the composition and polish of the ceramic. Some of them clean up with just distilled water, but I usually use Simple Green Crystal or a baking soda + distilled water alkaline scrub to lift any baked on carbon. The baking soda paste will pull the chaz right off a crusty quartz...

If I did it the easy way (with O-rings) I could make a cooling unit that just integrates with your existing stock glass (or aftermarket titanium) stem. No toes stepped on. Rather than go with quartz or titanium, this would probably be made from ceramic for enhanced thermal properties...

Yeah I like glass stuff too, though I was thinking this might be a cool solution for on-the-go usage. Something small, discrete, maybe drop-proof. The one I tried from Arb had a stainless steel spiral wound ribbon coil, maybe i’m confusing the model, but it was different from the mesh...

I almost bought a TinyMight last week so I could develop some stuff, every time @Shit Snacks says if he could only have one it’s the TM it makes me want to get one. Arb let me try Alan’s iHeat 510 which uses a similar spiral heater and it was my favorite portable experience yet, so I’ve been...

I guess I don’t see as much appeal to induction heating this vape. Seems like it would take a long time and have poor battery life. It would be much more practical to heat it up in a tabletop convection toaster oven, perhaps underneath a frozen pizza and tray of French fries.

Sapphire would be better as it’s both more conductive and less dense. The stem might still be hot though, as the beads will transfer heat from the hot air and put it into the stem, since there’s not much else to displace it. My more recent TM stem designs just use air cooling (like my Dyna...
