I have had something similar when I ate a pizza fresh out the oven and burned the roof of my mouth on the molten cheese. Not a nice experience and not one I would like to repeat through vaping!

Hmmm darkrom, that isn't good news. I should be getting my coil in the post on Monday and had high hopes. What you've just posted sounds like excessive heat either coming from the metal or hot vapours scorching your mouth. Have you been hitting it through water or 'raw'?

The real indicator is the taste. After a while, when the trench goodies are depleted and dark brown the taste is pretty scorched and undesirable. Plus you have more risk of combusting and making a stink that will linger in your MFLB. With the MFLB you can keep getting vapours at this point, but...

For sure the MFLB looks more elegant and natural with it's nice wood - part of the appeal for me. Also, that thing looks bulkier than the MFLB. I'd love to see a side by side comparison pic of the two for size comparing.
