It sits inside a silicone sleeve attached to the bottom plate, it is not attached directly to the circuit board, afaik you should be able to reseat the motor in the silicone to realign the contract points. Mine stops occasionally but a swift bang on the side with my palm sorts it out.

I would think you would still get some of the low temp toxins with smoking as the hot smoke travels down the joint it vaporises material that hasn't yet burned. I believe, correctly or otherwise, that I can taste or feel in my throat contaminated weed, but badly cured bud can be quite harsh...

The only way you can be truly sure is if you know and trust the grower. I would still guess that vaping would be less harmful over all, but then who knows what profit driven growers could put on their product.
