Battery sounds good as I see you say it's from a good source. On my unit (which runs hot) I preheat for 4~ seconds then start draw and 5~ seconds later I feel vapour. I continue my draw and pulse the button for another 10-15 seconds. I get 2.5 draws per bowl.
