I learned this lesson when trying to forge Ti. It's VERY dangerous when it burns. Nothing will put out the metal once it starts burning. EDIT: Water and CO2 denature when trying to extinguish it and only feed the burning/cause the metal to explode.

A Ti cap would discolour even faster than SS and form many bright oxide colours. So Ti really isn't the best choice. Something like Inconel would be the ultimate cap material.

I don't think purified butane is going to effect your health with a Vapcap. Unless you're heating while inhaling through the device there shouldn't be any combustion gasses/butane. What purer butane will do is decrease the chances of your torch getting clogged with residue.

I'm still confused as to why people are finding themselves waiting for a cool down click? I find that If I pull hard on the Vapcap I can get a lung full and it clicks just as I'm out of room. Anyone else go from click to click every time?

You get around 90% of the full bowl size, which isn't really that much of a difference that you would notice.
