I can finish a dab on my proxy on the lowest temp (Blue - with a 3MM ruby) as long as the device is clean. Once it gets significantly dirty I have to go up in temp - sort of analogous to using a Big Shot as the fuel level depletes and the times change.

You just want to run it until you stop seeing any vapors from your skin oils. If you shine an LED light on it you'll be able to see exactly when it's done. 10-15 minutes at 600F+ should be more than sufficient. A higher temperature might burn them off quicker if you want and wouldn't hurt...
