A week's worth of use and mine are still tight. One is a tad looser, but still a challenge to remove without this wonderful device (see post #3257 for link) Multi functional and inexpensive (I got three).

OK, so I seem to have a defective unit. I called the number on the packing slip and it turned of to be StoneMonkey himself. I explained my issue and after some questioning about specifics of what was going on he agreed it should be replaced and I should open a ticket to get the shipping info...

Mine has been warming up at the 12 o'clock position for over 25 minutes and is still red. If I turn it down to 10 o'clock it flashes green three times and then goes to red. If I move back to 12 o'clock it again flashes green three times and goes solid red. Just got it today.

Also got the email and ordered on Sat. Expected it to ship Monday, but didn't hear. Also sent in support email request late last night. This AM got email with shipping/tracking info timed at 2am. Checked the tracking info and On Truck Out for Delivery!!!!! And now, its already here...

I think they offer the batteries as a convenience to their customers who might want to pick up a couple while getting something else (and of course they have them for the kits they sell). They operate out of a limited space which is currently very well utilized and I expect they'd rather use...

No doubt repeated over heating screwed up the controller. It may well have been tested to limits that wouldn't be experienced in normal use.

As I understand it the newer pre-oxidized carts we tested are just entering the consumer stream. There are plenty of the older style around (I have several) that still need to be pre-oxidized per G's instructions.
