Why not try contacting a local glassblower and seeing how much they would charge for a quick patch job. They already have the equipment and expertise and could do it quick. I wouldn't think it would cost a lot. Ask some local head shops for references or search your local craigslist.

I should also add I never stir with it in the cloud because dust residue will fall through the fine mesh. It will build up over time.

I have done this too with a wet qtip trying to clean off the resin ring while it was hot. I figured the heat of the glass with a warm and wet qtip (did not want to chance cold water and cracking the bamboo) would help clean it better. I had my cloud at the highest and I have the ticker model...

I keep a screen at the bottom of the bowl and one in my PVHES turbo. If I wrapped the wax in cotton do you think that would be sufficient?
