It's only an issue if you make it one. Until I read about it here I never would have thought it was a big deal. It has no effect on function. If you can type a post on this forum you can pick it up. It's not that big a deal. lol
This is my last post about it though. If you all want to go...
I guess it's a good thing that the most anyone can find to complain about is the way it sits on a table. :D
I will say that if your physically not able to pick it up then you probably couldn't load it or use it either so really a moot point all around.
If the bottom was completely flat it still wouldn't be that stable. They would have needed to add a larger base. Then it would be even less portable. Or if there was a folding stand it would be cumbersome folding it out of the way with each drag. It's a fine compromise to me and I've never once...
That hole pattern was on the original Volcano. It's been around. An improvement they made with the plenty was the helix air path through the aluminum heater. I wonder if the crafty and mighty use a helix air path? And by helix air path I mean it twists in a circle and isn't just holes...
I like filling it all the way. :D I use a large reynolds turkey bag so they are bigger then stock. Depending on how I ramp up the temp I get between 3 and 5 bags. It's quite a feat to finish it all if you are alone. hehe
My question to other owners is does your unit remember the change from celsius to fahrenheit after power cycling? Mine always defaults back to celsius.
I have also tried to figure out where the intake is even going so far as to blowing through a hot unit and observing with infrared camera. I agree it is near the top of the heating chamber.
I have both. They are apples and oranges and I'm not sure how valid the comparison is. The problem with the volcano is the flavor of the first several inhales is all mixed together. You never get the purity and taste that you get by going "hit by hit". But the volcano has advantages as well...
So the filling device actually attaches to the Mighty? Entertaining and educational that video was! I guess I need to dig out the manual and flip through it. :D
