There IS a SS condenser tube inside the ti woody, but it is not completely sealed off. I don't think much vapor touches the wood, but if you don't keep the ti tip pretty clean oil will build up in it and drip down onto the wood.

I have no use for the carb. First I plugged it, but then I realized I could slide one of the internal o-rings that support the condenser past the carb and it forms a perfect seal. Mouthpulls are not my technique, but they've always worked fine when I've tried them.

My wood stem definitely gets dirty, Oil builds up in the bottom of my ti tip and drains down onto the wood. Could prevent it with more frequent cleaning, but I'm not willing to clean it every day

No, George will add a steel cap on the mouthpiece end on request too, and I just ordered a short blackwood body the other day and they come that way standard, I presume so the spinning mouthpiece doesn't wear at the wood
