That's exactly how I assemble it too. The button assembly always moves a little on mine too and it's easier to fix and make sure u get it right if u do the bottom first.

Hell yeah it is, I just bought a second SR71 as a spare! I think they're just as good as the SR74. They're both the best oil carts around imo!

@invisiblefriend, no problem, glad I could help. I don't know the exact temps of the rods but I remember a video that G made not long ago with the Herc and the 8, and he had a thermocouple attached inside the Herc to read temps and he got it up to 1,100°F, and he said the batteries were low too.

@invisiblefriend. Yea, I like the 3.7 volt heating rod better for flavor too. I used that exclusively for the fist year of having my SR71. It takes longer to heat up, but it doesn't burn the taste out of your oil immediately. I do like the 7.4 volt rod that comes with the SR74 tho. It doesn't...
