The stock stem with the CU doesn't offend me in terms of taste, but I do think the all glass GRAV Upline Taster does have better flavor, without being noticeably harsher.

To my knowledge standby mode cannot be disabled. I find that it goes into standby mode a little too quickly, but I suppose it prevents you from putting it down and the battery eventually running all the way down.

Mine stops blinking when it is fully charged. If it's otherwise working fine, I'd probably just keep an eye on it.
