You turn a knob to set the voltage which sets the temperature. Set and forget unless you change temps. And yes, the bulb glow is on all the time.

I've been running my HighLighter (imo it's a log) 24/7/365. It's pretty much "Set It and Forget It" plugged into a variable voltage source. There's a glow from the bulb, most logs use a ceramic/stainless heater so no glow.

I've come to the conclusion that excellent cells are cheap enough that I can use wireless charging and just replace the cell when it get's degraded. Except for specifically paired sets, like for an Angus or Tera.
