For single solvent, I'd say bho has the potential to be more refined. As a non-polar solvent, it's more selective and less aggressive than ethanol.

You need a piece with a lot of empty airspace to get that thick, white vapor. Your lungs can easily clear a small bubbler, so the vapor never gets a chance to build up.
