Next generation heat shields - the ones you are getting on your upgrades have already been made with chamfered holes. As I transition parts to the more industrial machines from my "garage" I can leverage the 4th, and even up to 6th axis. I'll take some vids of the new parts and try to learn how...

Hi - thank you for your feedback. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Everything you mention is going to get a serious look. The ONLY thing I can't fix in hardware is the propensity of some folks to just instinctively load the Anvil like they are used to with other vendors.

Hi there. John here. The main reason the condenser inner diameter necks down to 0.156 is to get through the two o-rings that hold it in the stem - which themselves have to get through the the air valve and so it goes. The o-rings float the condenser and as such hold the plunger in the centre...

What I meant to say clearly if I didn't say it was all upgrades to get all of you to a "release quality" unit will be at my expense. If someone is pulling out the 50X magnifier I may start to call BS and I hope everyone is reasonable. I know that I would be pissed if I bought something at...

Hi there. John here. This one has some information and some editorial so buckle up. We have already made a new screen design with a central slot that has a removal tool. It looks like a screwdriver blade with notches. slide it through the slot, turn 90 degrees and pull. By the time any of us...

Hi there - John here I actually do NOT recommend using any waxes, oils or other lubricants on the o-rings. The o-rings are Viton and are super just as they are. There is a detailed explanation of thermal protections etc. up thread. Use just use a bit of saliva or water to overcome the clean...

I'm honestly intrigued as to whether this type of apparatus will meaningfully cool the vapour. In order to implement a feature like this I would need to first make a rig to measure, against a calibrated draw, the temp out of the herb chamber versus the temp out of the mouthpiece and be able to...

A lot obviously depends on the starting moisture content of the herb, intensity of torch etc. In Design I aimed for a herb temperature of 350-375 F at snap. The canister of the herb chamber at the threaded junction is hotter than that, and then again the CopperBlock is hotter still. If the herb...

Hi there. John here. Thanks for the nice update. I wanted to point out again that trying to heat Anvil too fast isn't going to end happily. There is a lag between the outside oven temperature and the inside temperature-sensing herb chambers. The herb chamber always SNAPS at the same...

Hi Thanks for the great feedback. Judging by the picture you do have one of the more restrictive valves. The new valve has a taper that is 15 1000th's of an inch shorter and is sloped more aggressively at 10 degrease while the one in your possession is 7.5 degrees. These are subtle physical...

Did you watch the video at ? Another way to adjust it is just pull the oven right off the airflow control post. Screwing the airflow valve post in our out of the body adjusts the airflow. for example Case 1 - Pull the oven off the post. Screw the post fully into the body (the part with the...

Hi I don't feel I have enough information yet - except a real excitement - to commit to that exact magnet. But it looks super promising. Let me find out about delivery when things re-open next week. If its stock - YES. If its 4-6 weeks I will make what I've got in house already work properly...

Thank you - Thank you - Thankyou With this information you have really made me feel like I am becoming part of the TEAM here at FC. I appreciate being helped to make the Anvil better more than you can imagine!!! I will jump on these magnets.

Thanks for the nice feedback. Welcome to Anvil. Noted on the magnetic cap. Quick note on post-cleaning. In my experience after a thorough cleaning a small bit of rinse water remains in the herb chamber snap disc holder. Heating the first time WITHOUT herb will boil that water off nicely.

Hi there. The machining of the unit you're holding right now is done by me (yes me) on my Haas ST-10. An absolutely marvellous machine with a clearly 2nd rate operator :) The issues you're commenting on regarding the scuffing and moire look is a function of how rigidly I am currently able to...

Hi there - John here Thanks for posting these great photos. The "roughness" alluded to are the laser welds. These are autogenous welds - meaning no filler material - between the 316 herb chamber and the 410 disc that holds the snap discs in place. The smoothness depends a lot on the fit. The...

OK I should begin with another Sorry. So frickin' Canadian I'm about to jump off a bridge on this one. The Utility tubes that have shipped with 100% of the Anvils so far were not drilled deep enough. You cannot close the tube with the Anvil inside. I have verified that the entire batch is...

The heat shield fits a 14 mm right now. I'm sure there is an adapter out there for a 10mm that could slide onto the mouthpiece..

Here is my twisted (?) logic. Right now I spend 99% of my effort trying to make Anvil one of the best TEDs for the money. As I make more of them I am learning how to make them better. (I'm making Anvils right now as a matter of fact :) As you point out deficiencies I know exactly where to FOCUS...

Hi there Texus - I'm not stalling. When I took my First Company public the investment bankers taught me the value of "full, clear, plain and true disclosure". If I tell you something its going to meet those criteria. You may not always like the information but at least both of us can deal with...
