You actually got the new Classic in black. if you compare the old and new bottles you'll see that the new bottle is thicker with a stronger "shoulder." Only the new Child Proof Cap comes with the red o-ring. The o-ring forms the initial seal (second seal is inside - where gasket meets glass)...

The sleeves fit/work on the old Classic bottle but they don't fit like a glove like they do on the new bottle. I know that's not a very compelling way to describe. If you or anyone tries a sleeve on the old Classic and isn't happy we'll provide a refund as we always do.
