I use half-bowl dynavaps as my daily drivers. You absolutely can load a small amount in the airvape. Just make sure the whole bottom of the bowl is covered, so all the heated air you inhale in this convection device has to contact plant matter before it hits your lungs. No point inhaling just...

The key with convection vapes is airflow thru the load is what extracts. So you want to at least cover the whole bottom of the bowl, so all the heated air moving thru the bowl touches material. Tight pack is not necessary as it often is in full conduction vapes, and just makes drawing harder...
